Merry Christmas - 1994

Nicole sings a Florida Christmas to y’all:

On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...
A pelican in an orange tree.
On the second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...
Two silver waves...(repeat).
On the third day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...
Three sail fish...(repeat).
On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...
Four banana trees...(repeat).
On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...
Five gleaming shells...(repeat).
On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...
Six flamingoes strutting...(repeat).
On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...
Seven turtles snapping...(repeat).
On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...
Eight palms a-swaying...(repeat).
On the ninth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...
Nine dolphins leaping...(repeat).
On the tenth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...
Ten beauties bathing...(repeat).
On the eleventh day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...
Eleven gators sunning...(repeat).
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...
Twelve hibiscus blooming...(repeat)!

Nicole sang this at her School Choir Christmas Concert this year. She also is still on the YMCA swim team and in the school choir. She is also working at Santa land with Joy. Nicole began her confirmation classes at church last fall and will finish in two years. With school work and swimming practice, there is never enough time in her day!

Joy is busy! She works at Noah’s Ark Preschool three nights a week after school. She is President of Santa land - an organization that puts together and runs an every evening volunteer non-profit Christmas house with Santa Claus in one of Ormond Beach’s parks. Joy was selected to participate in the University of Miami Honors Orchestra last month. She played the violin in concert at The University of Miami one night while she was there. On Monday night, she played in concert at the Daytona Peabody auditorium in the Ormond Beach Strings Concert. She is also on the high school yearbook staff for the second year and she is the Ads Eeditor this year. In her spare time, she is on the computer chatting with other kyds on a local bulletin board. She has one more year to go in high school.

April is in her senior year at the University of Florida. That’s where the Gators play football in the Swamp. And, what happens to football teams who play the Gators in the Swamp - bad things man, bad things!!! April is still doing really well with her studies. She still keeps official records at volleyball and basketball games for the Athletics Department. In her spare time, she works at the office where Jessy and I work.

Jessy and Mark both live within a few miles from here. They both work at the same place I do. Mark has been hunting deer and wild hogs whenever he has a chance. So far, unfortunately, no luck. They plan to go to Ohio over Christmas to spend some time with Mark’s family. Casey is two!!! and he is all that goes with being a 2-year old little boy!! He really likes to help me out in the yard and in the gardens.

Bennie has moved to Jacksonville. He was promoted by the restaurant chain he works for and is now a co-manager of a store in Jacksonville. He likes the work and is doing really well there. We see him more now that he’s moved a little further away, since he comes home for about one day a week to see us all.

Jan and Jessy have a busy little craft business going. They frequently exhibit at local craft shows. Jan is also still heavily involved with the YMCA USS Swim Team. She is still on the church council and is on the Board of Directors and President, pro-tem for the Noah’s Ark Preschool at our church and on the Board of Directors for Florida Lutheran Counciling Services.

I’m wrapped up in my work, as always. I’ve traveled a fair amount again this year to places like Minneapolis, Chicago, San Francisco, Oklahoma, and Houston. I chaired a technical session for the American Concrete Institute at their fall convention in Tarpon Springs, Florida. I continue to work on family genealogies and work and play with personal computers. This year, I started to use the information superhighway and find it fascinating! If any of you use the internet or its e-mail service, you can reach me at [email protected]

As a family, we traveled up to Virginia Beach this spring to see Williamsburg, Jamestown Colony and the Yorktown battlefield. The girls were skeptical about this being fun at first, but they loved it! We also went camping over the fourth of July in Mississippi, where we joined Mark’s father and step-mother, to be.

The Kaeding Family... In the hush of anticipation on Christmas Eve, we will be thinking of all of you and wishing that we could all be together for this great celebration.
